Shadow Trail

I am a shadow
Always down below
A body without a face
Following someone else’s pace

I have no identity
Anonymous, that’s my reality
Gone soon as the lights are out
No eyes on who this poem’s about

I am a blurred image
A book without a page
Trying to contain my rage
So I locked myself in a cage

But I’m still under their shade
I find shelter on how they were made
Still living life, dismayed
So I built this barricade

I chose to stalk
Following their every walk
Imitating the way they talk
All I’ve reached is a deadlock

So I wait for their spotlight
The only time I’m in sight
Watching them shine bright
While I’m forgotten by night
