Curtain Call

I need a moment to digest,
The ticking bomb stuck in my chest.
You’ve painted my sight red,
So pay the price of my hatred.

He always sought your guidance,
And that filled you with arrogance.
You claim to be powerless,
Yet you thrive when he feels hopeless.

Dug your nails in his guilt,
Dragged his confidence through filth.
So I watch him waste away,
While you turn his whole world grey.

You’ve portrayed yourself a victim,
A lie you still use to trick him.
So I carry this burden,
Until you choose to close the curtain.
