Mirrors

Its been long forgotten
A person I’ve repeatedly avoided
A relationship I’ve broken
My misery, my memory.

We had a tragic farewell
Alive, but forever wounded
A friend turned foe
My pain, my guilt.

Tears on my cheek,
A prayer, I’m on my knees
Caged in her stare
She’s there watching me, mocking me.

Broken, she’s back with vengeance
Shattered images of a woman in despair
Her lips curled into a menacing smile
Her eyes filled with threat.

An unfamiliar face
Same person, but not quite
A hazy sight of our past
She used to be so innocent.
